Warboss
A Warboss is a great choice. Speed Freaks will benefit greatly from his presence.
What to give your Warboss.
The Warboss has many options. A great close-combat combo is: Power Claw, Slugga (+1 attack), Bionik Arm, 'Eavy Armour, And Frag Stikkbombz. However for Shooty Bosses id recommend: Kombi weapon- Shoota/Rokkit Launher, Mega Armour, Ammo Runt, and an Iron Gob. All Rounder: Shoota/Scorcha, Bionik Arm, Attack Squig, 'Eavy Armour, and an Iron Gob. Nasty!
How to use him:
Shooty One: Hang back and shoot. Then Shoot some more. CC: Charge forward, hugging cover. Aim for smaller squads, so you can cause them to flee, and cut them down. All rounder: Charge forward, fire shoota, then fire Scorcha, Charge small sqauds.
Big Mek
Same as a warboss. Don't give him bodyguards. I find it rather pointless. I'd personally choose a Big Mek over a Mad Dok, simply because they get nastier wargear!
What to give a Big Mek
Unlike warbosses, there isn't really a "CC" Big Mek and a "Shooty" Big Mek. So here's what i'd give them.
Shokk Attack Gun, Grot Oiler, Mekboys tools, Super Stikkbombs. Nasty In CC, Nasty In Shooting.
How to use him:
Repair tanks. I also use him to attack alongside my warboss. 2 is better then 1!
Painboss.
I don't like Painbosses. Period. Big Meks are so much better. Never the less, here we go
What to give a Painboss
'Urty Syringe, Slugga, and Doks Tools. Less is more in this case.
How to use him: Attach him to a squad. Heal them. Pretty much it.
Wierdboy
The ork psychic.
How to use him:
Keep him in cover, and use your psychic powers to kill enemy characters.
Elites
Stormboyz.
If I had one elites choice, i would choose these fellas. They work best in squads of 10-15. ALWAYS GIVE THEM A NOB! This can't be stressed enough. They are nothing without a nob (laughs at suggestive joke)
What to give them.
Nob, Frag Stikkbombz. All they really can have.
How to use them:
Jump from cover-to-cover, the fly into close combat. Try to chose a squad that you outnumber.
Kommandos
These nasty buggers work best in squads of 10, as they have no armour save. So they die easy.
What to give them:
Nob, 2x Shoota, Burna, Tankbusta Bombz. Keep them cheap.
How to use them:
Infiltrate a building behind your opponent. Then shoot!
'Ard Boyz
Now these are a good choice. I like to arm them with Slugga and choppa, and put them in squads of 10.
What to give them:
Slugga and CCW, 3x Big Shootas, Nob.
How to use them:
Use the 4+ to your advantage. Charge up the field, hiding behind Grots...
Skarboyz
Not worth it. But if you have to field them, put them in a squat of 5.
What to give them:
Slugga + CCW, 2x Big Shoota.
How to use them:
I recommend running up the field, trying to charge small squads of 8 or less. Hugging Cover is a must.
Flash Gitz.
Great Guys. My 2nd favourite Elites choice. Make them a squad of 5, and give them a nob.
What to give them.
4x Big Shootas. And give the nob Kombi shoota/scorcha. In case enemies get too close....
How to use them.
Hide in cover while shooting. If 'oomies get too close, burn 'em.
Troops
Slugga Boyz.
The best troop choice. Go best in squads of 30.
What to give them:
Nob w/ power claw, 3x Big Shootas.
How to use them:
March forward, then get into CC. Trust me, they'll flog da 'oomies.
Shoota Boyz.
Don't take these. Seriously. But, if you want to, take them in squads of 15.
What to give them.
3x Big shootas.
How to use them:
March into range, then shoot. It's that simple.
Stikk Bommas, Burna Boyz, Tankbustas.
The only one of these worth taking is the Burna Boyz. All the others are bad. Take them in squads on 10.
What to give them:
Burnas: 4x Burnas/ Stikk bombas:3x Rokkit Launchas, Tankbusta Bombz/ Tankbustas: 4x Rokkit Launchas.
How to use them:
Burna Boyz: Get the burnas in range. Then burn baby, burn!
Tankbustas: Kill tanks (duh). I recommend keeping them in a building.
Stikk bombas: Pretty Much the suicide bombers. Run up, screming WAAAGH! And blow the enemy tanks sky-high w/ the Krak stikbombs.
Grots:
Work best in squads of 30. I personally love grots, simply because they are so funny!
What to give them:
Absolutely Nothing!
How to use them: Grots are the ork "living Shield" Charge these guys up, keeping your orks safe behind them.
Coming up next: Fast Attack and Heavy Support.
Stickied for ease of reading
